File Transfer Protocol (FTP) allows you to move files back and forth between your local computer and a remote computer located somewhere else. In the case of AT&T WorldNet Personal Web Pages, it is one way you get your files from your computer to your PWP ( Personal Web Page ) directory on the Internet.
There are different ways to FTP or upload files to your PWP directory.
The simplest way to upload a "few" files is to use the Upload Tool provided by the ISP
You will be required to provide an ID and a Password.
The basic requirements:
1) The name field should be your e-mail ID
2) The password field should be your e-mail password
3) The server or host address should be: your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) address.
Many web publishing and page design programs allow you to upload or
publish your files directly to your directory. Information about setting
up many programs for use with the Personal Web Publishing FTP servers
can be found by Clicking Here
Although you can use the routines that are built in to many applications to upload your files, it is recommended that you use a FTP program such as " Free " WS_FTP-LE or Cute FTP for the PC, and Fetch or Anarchie for the Mac. For tutorials on these and other FTP applications, click here and on the link listed below...Page Author has found that all FTP software , he tried, accomplished the uploading transfer.
Note that files will not appear in your directory until the FTP process has ended.
