Coenzyme CoQ10 |
A compound made by the body that helps cells produce energy. "Levels tend to decline with age". It is believed that Q10 acts as a antioxidant, protects against Cancers, Heart disease, Migraines, and Degenerative diseases like Parkinson's and Huntington's. Delays the aging process, boosts energy and endurance whether it aids weight loss is in question.
Patients with Heart Disease, certain kinds of Cancer and Parkinson's often have low levels of CoQ10. It is yet to be clinically established that raising their levels is an effective treatment.
According to the National Institute of Health, in animal and human studies CoQ10 stimulated the immune system and increased resistance to disease. Another study suggests it may help reduce migraines.
As for the benefits regarding Weight loss, Energy and antiaging, the evidence is "slight to Nonexistent".
| Drawbacks It has been stated that CoQ10 has no serious side effects and no known toxicity. But there may be an interaction with some medications, such as the Anticoagulant Warfarin, Insulin and Cholesterol lowering drugs.
Doctor can adjust the strength of medication he has prescribed to compensate for any CoQ10 interaction.
An enzyme is a complex protein. It causes a chemical change in another substance, but is not changed in the process.Enzymes change proteins, starches, sugar into things that your body can digest
