Points to remember when receiving or reading email messages

If you receive an email with an attached file from an unknown source, simply delete it. Viruses and Trojan programs must have code that is executed in order to infect. If you "double-click" an attached file on an email message, you are executing code and may infect your machine. (Note: Newer antivirus software is capable of scanning these attachments before they are opened.)

Create an " Invalid " Entry in the Address book, Type a Bogus First and Last name, starting with a non-alphanumeric (text ) character...Something on the order of ( *virus-Alert ) or whatever you elect to use..

Now type..in the E-Mail Address area the greater then symbol ( < ) followed by " illegaladdress " as the e-mail address. The " Greater Than symbol (< ) must be entered at the beginning of the E-Mail Address. Both E-Mail function will tell you that what you have entered " Is Not A Valid E-Mail Address " and will ask if you still want to add it to the address book. Click Yes and then OK.

When a virus tries to mail itself to the addresses n your address book, the Illegal address will be the first address it sees and the Mail server will reject the fake address and " * possibly " the other address in the " cc ".

* It is possible that some Servers may send the message to the valid addresses that follow the bogus address, but you should be alerted when the bogus address bounces and rush off an e-mail to those on your address book that they should be careful if they don't have Virus Protection software.
