I'm Michael Mortimer, an amateur paleontologist who holds a Bachelors of Science in Earth and Space Science: Biology Option from the University of Washington. You can call me Mickey though, as my friends and paleontological acquaintances know me by that name. I study coelurosaurian phylogeny in particular, though I'm interested in other dinosaurs and zoological phylogeny in general. My current project is a phylogenetic analysis of non-ornithurine coelurosaurs, which will comprise a larger section of this website in the future.

Non-zoological hobbies include hanging out with friends, reading science fiction novels, learning about religion and atheism, Nintendo gaming and chatting online. My favorite TV shows are The Simpsons, Smallville, Naruto and Family Guy. The (recently un-)cancelled Futurama, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, The Critic and Invader Zim would also go on that list. Anime I've liked includes Cheeky Angel, Ranma 1/2, Full Metal Alchemist, Love Hina and Sakura Diaries. Favorite videogames are Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros.and Mario Kart 64. For webcomics I enjoy, check out Penny Arcade, The Wotch, Homestar Runner, 8-bit Theatre, Misfile, xkcd, Cectic, VG Cats, Digital Unrest and YU + ME : dream.
