DeoxIT:
When camera won't recognize any sm card and won't reformat sm cards, use 100% solution for cleaning contacts in camera's sm card slot.  Use extremely sparingly on a Q-tip, a miniscule drop is sufficient--using more product does not work better; wipe gold contacts on sm card (should barely see product after applying) and remove any excess with dry side of Q-tip.  Insert sm card several times to coat contacts in sm slot.  Be sure to pack bottle in your camera bag for emergencies as you probably will need to retreat contacts every couple of months, depending on camera usage.  Comes in two sizes:  7.4 ml. size with brush applicator and 25 ml. size with needle applicator; both bottles should last forever.  Can also be ordered through Radio Shack.

CD Burner:
A frequently overlooked, essential accessory.  If your default setting is SHQ, you'll find that you'll be running out of hard disk space rather quickly.  Copy your pictures to a CD and make a second back-up copy disc before removing pictures off of your hard drive.

Olympus Camedia FL-40 Electronic Flash
:
The FL-40 has a guide number of 130-ft. (40m) at ISO 100. Can be used alone or with the built-in camera flash. It uses four AA alkaline, NiCD, or NiMH (recommended) batteries. Manganese and lithium batteries cannot be used.

Olympus FL-BK01 Flash Bracket:
Item # 200 666; This bracket consists of two connecting pieces; the base and grip. It can be set up for left or right handed use. A standard hot-shoe flash or the FL-40 dedicated flash can be mounted on the bracket. The bracket uses a 5 pin TTL plug like that of the C-3000/3030Zoom; an appropriate cable must be purchased separately to use this bracket.

FL-CB02 Hot Shoe-to-TTL Cable:
Item # 200 663; Hot-shoe to TTL 5 pin connector. Use this cable to attach the C-2500L hot-shoe connector to the FL-BK01 Flash Bracket.

Canon Photo Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2:
Model # CZ6-2359.  The Canon Photo Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2 will let you use the FL-40 flash off-camera at a distance of up to 2 feet while maintaining TTL metering.  Additional info.

Stroboframe Quick-Flip Flash Brackets

Olympus Safe-Sync Voltage Regulator with PC/Hot-Shoe Adapter:
Designed by Wein for the C-2500L, allows the camera to accept a standard male PC sync connector from most flash or strobe units.

Microtech USB CameraMate SM/CF Card Reader
:

USB card reader capable of reading 3.3v and 5v SmartMedia cards up to 128 MB (when available) and any size CompactFlash cards including the new type II cards.

Filters:  Standard vs. Multi-Coated:
A few filter manufacturers offer their filters in a multi-coated version (example:  Hoya sells a standard circular polarizer as well as a multi-coated and super multi-coated version.)  These multi-coated lenses scratch quite easily and are extremely difficult to clean.  A wiser choice would be to purchase the less expensive standard lenses rather than the multi-coated versions.

Digital Wallet:
Portable Smart Storage device.  With it's own microprocessor, operating system, 2.5" hard drive and rechargeable batteries, the Digital Wallet is non-PC centric and can, therefore, operate independent of a computer. The Digital Wallet allows the upload and download of multiple file formats to its 6GB storage capacity through the unit's two ports: PCMCIA and USB.

DigiPower DPS-8000 Power Pack:
Capable of providing power for over 1200 pictures in most cameras; 6 volt NiMH battery pack with five 5/4 "AA" size - 2700 mAH batteries.  Comes with 8-12 hour ac charger, leather case, and a 360 degree swivel belt clip.  The pack is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket (2" wide x 3" high x 3/4" deep.)  Requires the additional purchase of the DP-1 Connector Cable.  Use caution when using a power pack as the camera's tiny door covering the outlets is quite flimsy.
