Began with white primer, then a thin basecoat of gray/black
3 levels of drybrush
first 50/50 gunmetal with light gray for dark metallic look. pretty generous, but avoid lines of detail.
second, add in more gray, but don't cover as much.
third - add white, and drybrush highlights with resultant mix.
paint on white for bridge lighting, and interior engine nozzles.
paint bridge lighting a golden yellow, add blueish-purple striping with a steady hand.
wanted a white - hot look, with just a hint of blue, came out so-so I guess. 1st -very pale blue interior 2nd - white dot in center, watery white thinly spread (from center) over remaining surface.
Base will remain flat black. I'm looking for white pinstriping stickers to designate fire arcs on my minis.
decals to follow in time.
These are mostly done...need some touchup and some clearcoat.
All my Starfuries are grouped in 4's...for squadron use
Still have another 24 to do.
This shows the finished look of my new method for drawing the fire arcs. 8 lines 45 degrees apart, drawn in with a silver metallic "Sharpee" permanent marker.
Didn't intend to cut off the head of the Omega, but there it is. Some small details to finish up on my 2 omegas; Engines, a little cover up on my escape pods (little red dots)...
