Coaches Corner

 

Head Coach Mike Jones - In 2004 Coach Jones starts his third year at Episcopal and first year as head coach.  For the previous two years Coach Jones served as the pitching coach.  Coach Jones came to Episcopal from Trinity Christian High School in Jacksonville, FL  where he was the Pitching Coach from 1998 thru 2002.  As a player, Coach Jones was selected as a pitcher, in the first round of the 1977 draft by the Kansas City Royals organization.  He was with the Royals organization for 8 years, four of which were at the Major League level. 

Assistant Coach Tom Stanton - Tom is entering his third year as a member of the Eagle coaching staff. Tom has experience at many levels of baseball.  Tom was a catcher for 6 years in the New York Mets and LA Dodgers organizations.  He has coached at the collegiate level serving as a hitting and catching instructor at Florida Community College at Jacksonville.  Tom is a graduate of Middleburg High School and has recently received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Florida in Sports Management.  

Assistant Coach Robert Pavelka - Robert is entering his second year at Episcopal working as an assistant coach with the Varsity baseball program. Coach Pavelka is a Episcopal graduate and former player.  Robert also played a year at the collegiate level at Florida Community College of Jacksonville. Robert takes pride in running the team's off season and in season strength and conditioning program. He is currently splitting his time between working with Episcopal’s student athletes and pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida. Robert is very excited about the upcoming season and is looking forward to strengthening the program as it works toward a championship season.
