JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH “Vanitas” refers to a genre of still-life painting popular in the 16th and 17th centuries. This sensual imagery featured objects that symbolically represented the meaninglessness of earthly life and the transient nature of vanity. To bring this concept into an accessible, modern context, I’ve placed traditional Memento Mori (reminders of our mortality) into an inventory window commonly found in video games. |
