- OBJECTIVE -
Test Engineer in a WLAN, broadband or handheld wireless
organization.
- SUMMARY -
-
Engineer/Analyst/Tech with experience
in WLAN, broadband and microwave networking fields of electronics.
-
Precise measurement, trouble-shooting,
problem solving, programming and analytical skills contributed to successful development
of commercial & military microwave and broadband wireless networking and WLAN
products:
- CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
-
-
Created & implemented a combination of COTS filtering & shielding solutions to eliminate RF ingress in multiple WLAN 802.11 test stations in several test labs eliminating the need to completely redesign test stations.
-
Created hardware & software, assembled, tested & verified "cheap, quick & dirty" antenna test system & chamber that measures gain accurately within 0.1 dB eliminating need for outside antenna test labs.
-
Submitted patent idea to Cisco Systems
for saving 100,000’s to millions of dollars by eliminating the need for
anechoic chambers for testing integrated antenna ODUs.
-
Wrote LabVIEW
program to help demonstrate VOFDM
algorithm performance for the 1st time, resulting in $1,000,000
funding for Clarity Wireless.
-
Supported the test conductor on the
Trident II D5 JT5-17 electrical compatibility missile system tests. Coordinated
test support efforts of several Lockheed organizations and Sandia National
Laboratory personnel, directed technicians' efforts, acquired and maintained
test equipment, performed system trouble-shooting, engineered test aids,
reduced data and provided reports to test conductor. The first Trident
D5 experimental missile flew successfully and on time due in part to this
team effort.
-
Developed RCS test system utilizing
HP 8510B
network analyzer and Scientific-Atlanta azimuth positioner controlled by
LabVIEW object oriented programming language on the Macintosh computer.
LabVIEW user since 1990 resulting in reduced time to completion on software
projects.
-
Programmed, enhanced and maintained
software for the IBM PC, Power Macintosh & Powerbook computers, &
HP 9000 series 300 workstation utilizing National Instruments LabVIEW &
HP Basic which acquired data from the HP 8510 network analyzer and then
processed it to represent complex properties of materials (relative permittivity,
permeability,
dissipation factor, etc.).
-
Created, developed, tested and verified
waveguide calibration kits from "L" to "K" band and rigid coaxial calibration
kits in 7/8", 1 5/8", 3 1/8" and 6 1/8" sizes and modified HP calibration
kit software for use on HP 8510B and C network analyzers. Saved company
over $40,000 in expenses for cost of commercially available calibration
kits.
-
Tuned, tested and troubleshot prototype
radar transceivers for AMRAAM
missile project. MIC experience: LNA, downconverters, phase shifters, IF
amps, hybrids, etc. Contributed solutions to more consistent production
of modules.
