We are a small breeder with a proven recommendations and references.  We AKC registered Havanese. The puppies are bred and raised to grow into well adjusted, top of the line dogs. We ensure that there is a demand for our puppies so that we ensure that are all well placed in loving homes.   They are non-shedding so perfect for all those allergy sufferers that could not otherwise have a special pet and they have long average life spans with no reported serious medical conditions.  We don’t cage or kennel our dogs or puppies.  Havanese dogs are superior family dogs, highly intelligent, easy to train, smaller size and easily adaptable to different people, pets and situation.   We treat the puppies with as much love, affection and attention as we do our adult dogs.  We don’t distance ourselves from the puppies because we really feel they need all that affection, although it does make it much more difficult on us to see them leave.  The new owners most often keep us updated with pictures, and information on their progress and we periodically send out gifts to the puppies.  We provide lots of love and attention, socialization, high quality foods, playtime inside and outside, start potty training and medical care to include removal of dew claws, and 1st round of shots so they grow into healthy, well adjusted, and top of the line, AKC Havanese Dogs.

They come with 3 day healthy puppy guarantee and 1 year health guarantee per the terms outlined in those guarantees which is shown on link on left and provided signed copy upon puppy pickup. Per terms spay/neutering is required.  No breeding offered.  Full bred Havanese puppies.  Best puppies ever!  Early reserve special offered at $1350 with pick of litter according to when you reserve online.  $500 deposit required.  Each of the puppies are superior quality and would be an excellent choice for a lifetime friend.  Puppies will be available to go to new owner's house beginning @ 8 weeks of age. Some pictures posted below and on photo gallery page is from past litters.  I will update this page and FB page with the pictures of current litter after it is born.  This Comcast page is mostly informative and our FB page is for post, recommendations, comments and lots and lots of pictures. Contact us if you should need more information.

Our Havanese:

We don’t kennel or cage our dogs ever.  Our dogs are our pets first and foremost.   We provide the same level of care, love and attention to the puppies and we never skimp on them to save a few bucks or make extra. That’s not who we are.  Out of respect for the new owners, we do try not to spoil them TOO much but it's extremely difficult. We do provide them the best of most everything and don't skimp on food, toys or things to save a few bucks. It's not who we are. We are not as concerned with the amount of money we spend as we are expressing affection on our dogs and puppies by providing them the best of everything, including our love and time. We feed them a high protein diet of fresh liver mixed with top quality moist and dry Merrick dog foods.  We supplement the pregnant Dam's diet with daily vitamins and other high protein treats and foods.   Additionally, of our dogs get high quality treats, that include real meat, teeth cleaning bonies, rawhides, lots of chewy toys, etc. We provide a good amount of attention to our dogs and pupppies. We take our dogs out on a nightly walk. We take them with us whenever possible and often bring them to the beach, hiking, camping, on family trips, etc. We take them with us, whenever possible. We go out of our way to find accomodations that will allow all of our dogs to go with us on family trips or on the rare occasion that we don't, we have someone stay back with them and care for them for the day or 2 without us. Whenever we bring them along, they are very well behaved. We've traveled across the country with them and stayed in many hotels, homes, campers, etc. We’ve taken them along with us on almost every trip we have taken.  It’s a choice and they are like our kids so we don’t like to leave them behind.    They are great traveling dogs.

We spend a good deal of time with the puppies as well. When they are old enough, we allow them to go out into our fenced back yard and have supervised playtime. They are all very well cared for so a solid upbringing will help to raise a healthy, well behaved, confident, happy, and loving dog.

All of our dogs and the puppies that we have, are a part of our family and even after the puppy is with his/her new owner, they are always in our hearts and we try to stay in contact. We get so much happiness by helping to bring a well bred puppy into this world to bring so much happiness to a family or individual. It's lifechanging for many people and that feeling can't be bought. We've sold to many grateful buyers and have been told over and over again, just how much the love and happiness the dog they purchased from us, has brought into their lives. As far as our adult dogs, we value them and would never sell them, even after retirement, which is a habit of some breeders.

We try to stay in contact with most of the owners after the puppies are sold and gone and we have even sent new toys out for gifts on several occasions.

Reviews: The puppies we’ve sold have been extremely well received by our buyers and our  Vet.  Our Vet has repeatedly commented that we have some of the best puppies/litters he has seen in all the years in the business.  We have many recommendations from past buyers. We keep in touch with most of the owners and receive updates with pictures and posts.  We’ve been told how blessed they are to have found us and to have purchased such awesome, loving pets. The puppies enrich each of their lives. It’s wonderful to know that we had something to do with that.  Most of the reviews are posted on our FB page.  I’ve copied many of them below:

  • “Riley loved his Christmas package of toys and treats! You are a very special mom to the puppies you bring into the world and share.”

  • “Can't believe he is 2 already, time goes so fast, we love him.”

  • “Thank you Both for the present for Annah. what a sweet thing your guys do. Your great breeders I highly recommend you to people looking for the Havanese.. Our Annah is sweet and smart .”

  • Dexter is settling in well. He is already bringing us so much joy. Here is a picture of my son Ben reading to him (-:

  • Annoushka ... "She is a joy and a real completeness in our lives".  "Annah had a prelim showed clear. eyes perfect ".

  • Mischa and Alexsei... "Thanks so much! We feel blessed to have found you guys as breeders.  It is wonderful to know how well cared for the pups are.  Thank you!"

  •  "Just wanted to let you know that we took Mischa to the vet on 9/3/11.  He checked out just fine.  They did a fecal float and there were no worms/parasites/ova noted."

  •  Iraina... "We feel really good about buying a puppy from your family".  "We call her Sheba and she has been the best dog we've ever had".

  • Bailey... “Thank you for raising such nice dogs” “Bailey continues to do excellent.  Transitioning to toileting outside quite well.”

  • Our Veteranarian... “Ive seen Breeders who have been in business for many years and this is the best breed of puppies I've seen before”. “They don't even bark!”

Return Buyers:  We've had 3 return buyers came back and buy another puppy from us. We could have sold more to other buyers but they were all spoken for. I've had many disapointed buyers who inquired about a puppy and waited a little too long. They will inquire and check around, and then come back, only to find out that all the puppies are spoken for. I've had some very disapointed prospective buyers. This has happened even when we have had 3 or 4 puppies available at the time of inquiry. The puppies will often sell all at once. Please keep this in mind if you are considering purchasing from us.

What We Provide:

We offer a clean and loving environment, with socialization for all the puppies prior to them being homed.  We set up a nice quiet area of the house for their whelping area and den.  We are there to help with the birth of the puppies and are allowed in her den and area to feed her and visit and handle the puppies after their birth.  We take care of all her needs and also the puppy’s needs as they grow older. We present the pups with a method of inside and outside if possible, potty training. For the inside method, we use the Misty Hills Method of potty training beginning at a very early age so they have a  foundation in which to begin with. We hope that by the time they leave our home, they are regularly using the pad and also familiar with using the outdoors to potty, although, the degree of each does vary with each puppy and litter. We try to let them go outside for supervised play times in our covered back patio and fenced in yard when it’s safe for them to do so and weather permitting.  They really enjoy playing outside and it's super adorable to see them running one by one through the pet door, with all their little tails waggin, to play outside. Watch some of our videos on Facebook. We put the small wading pool outside when it's warm enough for them to begin playing around it. They don't usually play in the water, but they play around it and fetch the ball from the water, etc. We do introduce them to it by sometimes putting them gently in the water or giving them baths in it, etc. When age appropriate, we do expose the puppies to other people and pets on our household. This helps them learn to be comfortable around other people, pets and things. We take a very active role in their upbringing and spend a lot of time loving them, playing with them and caring for them so they grow to be well adjusted, happy, non aggressive dogs.

We provide the puppies the best food options and medical care. They are brought to the Vet at 3 days of age to get an exam and dew claws removed. They go back to the Vet for their 1st set of shots, nails clipped, deworming.

We are also very involved in the birthing and care of the puppies. We go in for the birthing and hand feed the Dam high protein meats while she is in the whelping area with her puppies, for the 1st couple of weeks or so. We will bring her some ice cream and extra high protein meals. We do provide her lots of attention and care for her after the birth so that she feels special and so she doesn't neglect her own needs.

When the puppies get a little older, and Mom doesn’t need the privacy of the den so much then we move them to another area in the house so that they can be more out in the open and have more one on one time with us and the other pets.

Excellent Quality Puppies:

We mate to make well behaved, healthy, high quality AKC Champion Bloodline puppies. They are extremely well behaved puppies who have excellent physical traits as determined by the highest standards set forth by the AKC guidelines.  Many could be top show quality puppies and dogs, however, we choose to keep them as pets and not to show them.   We also require new owners spay/nueter the puppies at age 6 months or as recommended by their Vet. We work hard to provide puppies that are healthy, happy, well adjusted, and socialized. We work hard to make ensure that the puppies are well cared for and that we provide the foundation for each of them to have a great start in life, without any emotional scars or disabilities!  This makes for a more sound, secure and well-rounded puppy and then Dog.

Not all breeds of dogs are the same; nor are all dogs within that breed the same. The quality of dog and how it was raised makes a huge difference in the traits that the puppy will develop when they grow into a full grown dog.

While Havanese dogs are an excellent breed of dog, the manner in which they are raised and their genetics can often make the difference between getting a well behaved, loving, most postive addition to your family that brings happiness and joy with along with him or her, versus you getting an ill, aggressive or misbehaved dog, that can cause lots of chaos, costly expenses and heartache.

What to look out for:

Their are many signs to look out for that might help identify a puppy mill or ill bred puppy. Most of the normal signs are posted online. Here are a few more of the normal and not so regular signs to watch out for:

  1. Any recommendations or references: We post on FB for all comments to be made public. We have many of our buyers as FB friends or those who follow our pages and they often send us pictures, updates and posts about the puppies they purchased from us. We post lots of pictures, videos and posts. We don't have any complaints about our puppies. We have so many references and recommendations regarding their life altering purchase they made from us! They are extremely grateful and happy for the purchases they made.

  2. Do an internet search and see if it comes back with any founded complaints or lawsuits regarding an accused puppy mill. Pet shops are a known source for selling puppy mill puppies so be careful when purchasing from a pet store.

  3. Are you able to pick the puppy up at the buyer's home or do they only want to meet you somewhere outside of the home? We always allow the buyer to pick up the puppy at our home. We do ask that the puppy not be shown before about the 6th week so not to expose them to any unnecessary illnesses but this is for their protection. We post the pictures and videos online until a 1st meeting is set up to come and play with the puppies. The buyer is able to come to a puppy play date around 6 weeks of age, at our home and also come back to pick up the puppy in our home.

  4. Are the puppies being advertised on Craigslist? Craigslist is not a valide site to advertise puppies for sale.

  5. Call AKC and ask for a reference in the area. We are listed in the zip code of 98501. We should be available on the list through AKC. Any complaints to the AKC about the breeder?

  6. Be wrary, of some of the lowest priced puppies. “You get what you pay for” and “Sometimes, the low price is an indicator of too good to be true” I've heard many stories from buyers and prospective buyers regarding buying a “Havanese” puppy for good money, only to find out that the puppy had ill behavior or medical problems that become a big disruption in the household and cost the buyer more money than if he/she had spent the money up front. I've sold a puppy to some owners who had this type of experience and they were very weary of buying another puppy but were elated to find the truly great additon to their family that they had wanted in the 1st place.

  7. Does the breeder take the time to respond to your inquires? Are they willing to take the time to speak to you or respond to your email/text inquiries?

Inferior Quality/Neglected or Traumatized Pets:

You may save money and buy a puppy for less money but end up with one that needs a lot of medical care, and has emotional and behavioral problems.  We’ve had lots of calls as a result of a buyer purchasing a puppy elsewhere, only to find out that the puppy is unmanageable and not the quality that they had thought and paid for. Some people spend thousands on medical bills and obedience training, only to eventually end up finding the puppy a new home, but not until after the puppy and the family have been more traumatized.

When you buy a sick puppy,  not only could you end up incurring a huge amount in medical costs but you may also end up having to care for it and watch it while it’s sick. No one wants to get a new puppy and then have to watch while it’s sick and in pain. It may be genetically inferior so that it’s really not a good example of this awesome breed of dog. Many of the less expensive puppies come from puppy mills, and have not been properly raised or have the high standards of breeding or care that we provide.  They may have even been abused which of course, can cause severe emotional scarring and behavioral problems that are difficult to fix.  It’s not good when a puppy is taken away from its Mother or Siblings too early because they learn through play and interaction with them.  There is nothing wrong with adopting a rescue dog but many people are not aware of the difficulty in trying to change these dog’s behaviors.  It often takes a professional accustomed to working with these types of dogs, to be able to rehabilitate them so that they are more well-rounded pets.

Almost always in these situations, the puppy will be very disruptive and difficult to train and handle. It may act out and even aggressively bite and chew on things, be unfriendly, not get along with other pets and children, and overall threaten the peaceful surroundings and tranquility of the hone.  Meanwhile, the family has ended up spending money and time than what they can comfortably invest, and often end up exceeding the amount that they would have paid for a modest priced puppy.  Plus, both the puppy and the children end up being traumatized.  When there are children involved then you must be extra careful. You want to ensure their safety and not expose them to dogs and situations that will likely result in them being scared of dogs in general and even traumatize the children or taint the family on the possibility of getting another puppy.

A good quality puppy, raised in a good environment can make a wonderful pet and have a positive influence on the overall dynamics and harmony of the home.

The Havanese Breed & Traits:

When you consider a Havanese, you are considering one of the BEST BREEDS! The breed is non-shedding and so it's perfect for allergy sufferers.  They are also great to use as a therapy or service type dog.  Havanese are smaller dogs but not tiny, miniature dogs. They are extremely healthy with little known congenital problems and average lifespan is 14-17 years. The weight of this breed is slightly increasing and the average weight is now about 12-16 pounds.  Fewer of the breed, weigh about 10-21 pounds.  I estimate puppies from this litter to be about 12-15 pounds but that’s an early estimate based merely on the weight of the parents.  It will be easier to determine the weight and size of the puppies after birth.

Keep in Mind that the color of the Havanese fur is often known to change!   This is not certain but it does often happen most often with the very dark brown and sometimes black puppies but it can happen with other colors as well.  It will sometimes change drastically and can turn into even more beautiful coloring.  Research this further if you are interested as this is a whole science subject

They are non-shedding and perfect for those allergy sufferers and those who simply don’t like fur all around the house. I have full grown dogs and you would not know it by the lack of fur in my house. You can also wear black without getting fur on your clothes.  It’s known to be a very healthy breed without any real serious Congenital Diseases.

Application for Puppy:

If you are interested in a puppy, then I ask you to complete a puppy questionnaire form or call me with the information. It’s important to talk to prospective buyers.  We ask some questions to try and ensure suitability and see what your preferences are.  We have provided a puppy questionnaire form on the link to the left.  You can fill that out and send a copy to me in email or phone me with details. Information will be kept private and I won’t use it for any purpose other than to determine suitability and preference in a puppy.  After reviewing the information, I will let you know if we have a puppy available for you and negotiate the sale of the puppy.  Deposit is required to hold a puppy.

Deposit, Balance and Payment Options:

(Special Early Reserve Price of $1350 otherwise, price goes to $1450 after birth.)

·         Deposit Required:  $500 Non-refundable

·         $850 remaining balance due upon pickup

Please discuss options to pay the deposit and remaining balance so that both parties feel comfortable with the payment options and the balance is paid by or upon the date of pickup.

Payment thru Paypal :  Preferred Method of Payment.  $500 Deposit Paypal payment accepted.  Balance Due Paypal Accepted =  Since Paypal charges the business receiver a fee to accept payments, we ask that if the buyer wishes to make the remaining balance payment through this method of payment, that they include $25 for the fees that will be deducted from our payment.

We will accept the remaining balance paid in cash, upon time of pickup, with a written bill of sale, health guarantee/contract and puppy provided to the buyer at that time.

We may accept a check for either deposit or remaining balance.  Please discuss this option with us prior to the payment.  When paying by check for the deposit payment, we will hold your spot on the list for up to 3 days if you pre arrange this with us. With prior approval, we may also accept a check for remaining balance but the check must have cleared by the time the puppy is picked up.

We may also facilitate a transfer from your bank to our bank, for the remaining balance due.  I see that many banks are doing bank to bank transfers although I’ve not used this option on many occasions and would have to look into it and possibly set up my account to receive the payment, however, it may be an option for payment.

Choosing a Puppy”

Appointment for Viewings: For those on the Reserve list, we will set aside a weekend for viewings.  We will set up times for the buyers, beginning with #1 on the list, to come out and view and interact with the puppies. We will schedule them at least 1 hour apart, and allow ½ hour viewing times, so that the puppies don’t get overly tired.  We don’t want the puppies to get sick, so we ask that buyers don’t come with anyone that is sick or bring their other pets.  The date and time is to be determined. In past, we’ve made the viewing available after the pups turned 6 weeks old and had their 1st set of shots. We will make every effort to notify the buyers with ample advance notice of the viewing times. We can only continue to allow the buyers to make the determination of what puppy they choose if they notify us of the puppy they choose at the time required, otherwise, it will hold up all the other sales and we will have to pick for the buyer and not be able to offer this service again in the future. We’ve had people on a list like this for the past 2 litters and it worked well.  Most breeders simply choose the puppy for the buyer as it’s a much easier system and no home visits.  We like to continue to offer this service so the buyer is able to interact with the puppies and have a say about which they choose. Of course, the buyers always ask about the puppy’s traits and characteristics when considering a pick and we provide all the information we can to help ensure a good match.

Buyer or Seller Choosing the Puppy:  We do recommend that the buyer visits the puppy in person.  If that isn’t possible, then we will happily use the information we have about the puppy and the family to choose a puppy for that family. We will also provide pictures and information online for the buyer’s enjoyment. We like to give the buyer the opportunity to pick their choice of puppy, but in the very rare case, where we feel that a puppy would not be compatible with a family, then we do retain the right to override the buyer’s choice about a particular puppy.  We don’t anticipate that this will happen however, our highest concern is to the current and future health and well-being of our dogs.

With Purchase:

We offer all our puppies with a 3 day Healthy Puppy Guarantee, 1 year guarantee against specific Congenital Health Conditions both as outlined in Health Contract provided upon pickup and info on link to left (Vet exam required within 3 days after arriving home), Copy of Vet Records including Exams and Shots, Dew Claws Removed, and a Puppy Gift Pack with a Comforting Toy to transition home with.  Health Guarantee is outlined on link to left and copy will be provided upon pickup of puppy.  AKC Limited Registration doesn’t include breeding rights and warranties are not transferrable.

Pickup Requirements:

Puppies will be available to go to new owner's house at 8 weeks of age. Date will be figured according to 8 weeks after the birth of the puppies and scheduled for the week following the birth. We anticipate next birth to be around mid September so they will be ready to go home around mid November or so. This is merely approximate dates and the actual dates will be calculated based on the actual birth dates and information updated online. We ask that the puppy be picked up that week unless other arrangements are arranged with us, prior to purchase. We have other obligations that prevent us from offerring extended care plus the puppies get too attached to us/visa versa.

If we do agree or have to otherwise provide extended care, then we may charge the buyer with a nominal daily sitting fee for our time and the extra expenses we incur for the 2nd set of shots, food/toys, etc. The going rate for watching a full grown dog averages about $25-$30 a day. We reserve the right to charge a nominal fee of $10 day fee, if we are required to keep the puppy beyond the extended pickup date. This only applies to all of those who purchase prior to the 1st day of 8th week. For any person who makes a purchase of a puppy after the 8th week, then we will allow 1 week to arrange pickup if necessary.

If you are unable to pick up by the arranged pickup date, then please notify us of this asap, so that we can discuss any options.  Any change to the terms must be put in writing and agreed upon by both Buyer and Seller. Failure to make other arrangements agreeable by both parties and put in writing, with regards to late pickup/extended care or non-payment in full, may at our discretion, result in termination of the contract and forfeit of any monies paid.

We discourage shipping a puppy Cargo method.  This method of shipping is not recommended for a young puppy.  We will consider requests on a case by case basis, although, we will not approve it when the conditions are unsafe for the puppy. i.e. Shipping a puppy to Texas in the middle of Summer. We will not sell a puppy when we believe that the puppy will not be shipped appropriately. The Cargo section of the plane gets very hot and the planes are often left on the runway for hours. The puppies are then brought to a room and often left there for extended periods of time, until someone picks them up.   We suggest that if you are purchasing a puppy from out of state, then you fly here and bring puppy back on plane with you.  The puppy would be eligible. Airlines allow this for a charge. You can fly with the puppy under the front seat.  We will assist in shipping. All costs associated with shipping a puppy, is the responsibility of the owner.  Contact us for details on shipping options.

Puppy Preparedness:

I’ve listed a long list of recommendations for picking up your puppy, travel home and welcoming home.  Please refer to the link on the left side of this page.  You may want to send us a toy or blanket of some sort so that the puppy can become familiar with it prior to you coming to pick him/her up. We will put the item in the area with the puppies and then you take it home with you after you pick up the puppy. We will also provide each buyer with an item that has been in our home to take home with them.  This makes the puppy feel more comfortable so the transition will be smoother.  We also provide a Puppy Gift Pack of some very cool gift items to get you started.  When picking your puppy up, please bring a box or crate, old towels and a blanket.  I would suggest coming with a driver and rider so that the rider. If you don’t have a rider, then you should definitely bring something to put the puppy in. Line the crate or box with an old towel or place a towel over the rider’s lap, as the puppy will normally get sick during the drive home.

Ensure you have purchased the items that the puppy will need once it gets home.  They will need a list of items, including, water and food bowl, toys, dog bones for teeth cleaning and chewing, toothbrush and toothpaste, slicker brush and/or stainless steel comb, quality shampoo/conditioner, sleeping area such as a mat, bed, kennel or crate, quality food dry and/or moist (stick with the same brand we use or gradually change brands so not to get the puppy sick).  We currently feed the adult dog Merrick Moist and Dry Dog foods mixed with fresh cooked beef liver.  We feed the puppies 5 Star Merrick puppy food, dry and moistened with water to prevent them from becoming accustomed to the moist foods because many buyers choose to feed them dry.
