Reserved List - 4 Puppies on Reserve

Only 3 Boy Puppies Left

Expecting Litter:  Litter Announcement for Serafina #TR56348403 (Champion Bloodline) & AKC Truffles #TR964464103 who were mated on Feb 15 & 17th.  Litter was born on April 21, between the hours of 8:30 pm -1 am.  A beautiful litter of 7 black and some with white markings were born.  The litter includes 5 boys and 2 girls.  We have 4 puppies reserved but we are still taking applications and deposits for the remaining 3 puppies.  Hurry as the remaining 3 puppies will be gone. The puppies will be ready to go to their new homes when they are between 8-10 weeks of age so around June 16-30.  When they go home with their new owner actually depends on the puppy’s maturity level at the time.  We are accepting deposits to reserve a puppy from this litter.  You will be added to the list and choose your puppy according to the number you are on the list.

This is a Great Deal:  The price we have set is far below the normal average price for a puppy from a Champion Sired Litter. Puppies of this quality and from this region will often be sold for upwards of 2k.    We are offering this litter at a very attractive price.  We want ensure they are all adopted in a timely manner and go to excellent homes.  We’ve already received 4 deposits so far so you will want to hurry or you might get shut out.  We only have 3 puppies left.  This is definitely for sure, the last litter of puppies that our beautiful, wonderful, Serafina ever has.  We are retiring her after this litter.  After which, she will live a leisurely life out with us.  This is your last chance to get a puppy with her excellent pedigree and genes.  We offer an excellent health guarantee which includes the option for a cash medical reimbursement where applicable.  This is almost unheard of in the field of breeding because normally the only compensation offered is an exchange of the sick puppy for another puppy.   That may sound okay, but since most people will not give up the puppy that they have become attached to then that offer is not very valuable.   It’s much better to offer the cash reimbursement so that you receive financial assistance with the puppy’s health problems.  We feel pretty confident that our puppies will be healthy which is why we have no problem offering the cash reimbursement as outlined in the health guarantee.

Serafina & Truffles:   Our Beautiful and Super Fun AKC Registered Havanese Dog is named Serfina.  She has an adorable look, as well as a super personality and laid back disposition.  She’s very healthy and happy and is a wonderful companion and Momma.   She lives with us and her litter of puppies, in our home on site.  She was our first Havanese Dog.  After getting her, we were hooked on the breed.  I can't say enough great things about her.   Her coat is a color of beautiful white with cream markings with thick wavy fur.  She is 6 years old and currently weighs about 16 lbs.   She normally weighs about 14 lbs when she isn’t nursing or pregnant.  She's extremely healthy and still gets around like a young puppy.  She loves people and other dogs and is quite personable.  She likes to be outside and go hiking or whatever.  She’s a tomboy like dog and not a girly girl dog.  She’s pretty much up for anything but content to do nothing.  She travels well and behaves when we bring her with us on trips.  When we moved here, she traveled with us in the car from TN all the way to WA and did great.  We made a trip out of it and stopped along the way.  It took almost 2 weeks of traveling.  She has no current or past medical issues.  She’s always been quite healthy.  She has the cutest personality and just makes me laugh.  She makes us happy and really brings a lot of joy to our lives.  She is a special dog.  She's easily trained, rarely misbehaves, calm, not hyper, protective but not aggressive, healthy, playful, loveable, plus lots of fun. We think that she has so much to offer.  Her beautiful appearance, fun and easy personality, laid back and loving disposition and good health are all traits that are very desirable and sought after.  Like many other Havanese dogs, she does like to be near her owner, but she doesn’t have to be right up on me.  She is the perfect mix of big and small all tied up in one. She is protective of me but not aggressive.

The Father is a Champion Named Truffles.  He is a Chocolate Havanese.  His coat color is more unique and rare.  He’s entered and won 4 major dog shows. He is smaller at about 10 lbs. He has a similar temperament and personality to Serafina.   He’s located off site, with his owners in their home, north of Seattle.  We visited him in his home and Serafina stayed with him over the weekend while mating.. He has an excellent gait and looks great on the floor, although, the Puppies will not be sold with breeding rights.  They will be sold as Pets only and eligible for AKC limited registration.

Show Dogs Information:   Both the Dam and Stud have an excellent pedigree.  Truffles is a Show Dog and has won 4 major shows.  Serafina is not a “Show Dog”.  We are not interested in showing her, although, we feel that if we had shown her, that she would have done very well.   When we initially looked for a Havanese Dog, we did not have in mind that we wanted a dog to show.  We wanted a healthy and happy dog that would enrich our lives.  I found out that’s pretty much what most people are interested in.  That’s what is offered here.  Serafina has the best attributes of any dog that we’ve ever had.   Very few people are specifically looking for a “show or breeding dog”.   There is definitely nothing wrong with Show dogs.  Nor is there anything wrong with dogs that haven’t been showed.   Show Dogs are simply capable of verifying their pedigree.

Truffles has been shown in some major competitions and placed very well. He has won 4 major dog shows and has proven to be a top notch dog of this breed.  I’ve included pictures of him, his wins, and ribbons at the bottom of this page.  The offspring of these 2 Quality Havanese Dogs, will most likely provide some excellent traits like most people are looking for.

Both Dogs are Super Amazing!  They have the best, most sought after traits and have produced the most desirable litter of puppies.  We’ve only have 1 litter a year for the past couple of years.  Serafina  had 2 previous litters.  We’ve received excellent verbal and written reviews and feedback.  We even have some excellent feedback posted on our Facebook advertising page for everyone to read.

Coat Colors & Possible Color Changes:  You never know exactly what you will get with the Havanese Breed.  We’ve had litters born before and we called them the “variety pack”.  This time, not only are they Adorable as usual, but they are different in that they are all quite similar in the color of the coats.  They were all born with glossy black coats and most with some white markings.  Most have white booties and beautiful white markings under their chin and belly.  It is still difficult to know exactly what they will look like when they mature since the Havanese breed can change colors when they mature.

Havanese are some of the very few dogs born and recognized by the AKC in almost every possible color.  Very often the puppy’s coat color will be born one color and then transform to another color as it matures. It can be a drastic transformation from say, dark brown to almost white.  We’ve had this happen before.  Serafina had 4 very dark brown puppies.  Three of them I know for a fact, changed their coat color drastically over time.  One puppy went from dark brown, to nearly all white.  Another went from dark brown, to a silver grey for the main color and other color in the highlights.  The change is pretty drastic.  I tell you this because I don’t know if the puppies from this litter will change colors or not.  I’m not an expert in this field. I do know that the puppies that have appeared to me to have changed the most were all born with very dark brown fur and not black fur, like these puppies.  We had one black puppy from a past litter and his main coat color didn’t change.  He was a gorgeous puppy.  I don’t know and I don’t guarantee if the puppy’s fur color will remain the same or change. I have a series of pictures showing the progression of 2 of the dark brown puppy’s fur color.  I took periodic pictures of the puppies over time and the pictures show how the color change at some internals and also recently.

How the Puppies are Raised:  Serafina is very trusting and secure in herself and with us.  She allows us to be in her space and help with the puppies from birth onwards.  We spend lots of time with her and the puppies.  We don't merely stick them in a back room and forget them.  We get satisfaction out helping to raise them, and watching them grow into healthy and happy puppies.  We play with them and interact with them and Serafina several times a day. We set up the newborn area in our large walk-in closet so she feels safe in there.  Still there is enough room for us to assist and play with the puppies. When they are a bit older, we initiate the Misty Trails method of potty training so we have a separate area for the potty in between the sleep and play area.  Still when they are older, we normally will set up an area in another room which is open to the rest of the house, so they can play and interact with us during the day.  We put them back in their sleeping quarters at night.   We don't crate our puppies.  If this is your preference, please note that they have not been crated and so they will not be used to it. We’ve had some puppies that were purchased and the new owner’s used the crates for the puppies to sleep in at night.  The puppies got used to the crate method pretty fast and easy.  They didn’t seem to resist it much even though they were not used to it.  Even though, we choose not to crate our puppies, we don’t have a problem with it as long as it is done appropriately and not used to “cage” the puppies all the time.

During the formable weeks and months, we attempt to expose the puppies to different people/children/pets/sounds/smells. We do these things to socialize the puppies and help them become familiar with many different situations so that they are more comfortable and have fewer problems with anxiety and fear, when these situations are posed later in life. Momma Serafina is extremely involved with her puppies.  I do believe that she is an excellent Mother Dog.  As the puppies grow, she will play with them increasingly each day.  She has so much energy and plays with her puppies a great deal each day.  It’s so much fun to watch.  She is just such a good Momma and her puppies are always so spoiled not only by her, but by us also.  We play them too.  She actually teaches them a lot of lessons through her play and that is obvious when you watch her play.

Reviews and Recommendations:  I can say that we have received overwhelming positive feedback.   We’ve received excellent reviews and very high praises from those who have adopted our puppies.  We have received emails and phone calls telling us how good of a job we have done with the puppies and how much they appreciate the time and effort we put in to lovingly raise them.  The people are most often so grateful, and kind with their reviews.  We've been told they got the "best dog ever from us" and "blessed to have found us as a breeder" plus the Vet said that "in all his years of work, he's has not seen a better litter of puppies from any breeder, large or small”.  .  Review our Facebook advertising page for some of the past posts about us as breeders:  https://www.facebook.com/HavaneseBySerafina?ref=hl

Havanese Breed Traits:  One of best characteristics of this breed of dog are non-shedding. They virtually leave no fur around. I probably lose more hair than my dogs do:). They really don't shed and it's great because I can still wear black clothing and don't have to constantly vacuum the house. They are perfect for those with Allergies. Other excellent character traits are: Excellent with kids and pets, smart, easily learns tricks, responds well to treat training, not aggressive, calm, not yappy, protective – good watch dogs but not aggressive, dedicated, loving but independent. Another big bonus is that they generally have long lives and live to an average lifespan of 14-16 years. Average size is 10-16 pounds. My husband was totally stuck on a large dog breed until we got our first Havanese dog, Serafina and now he is hooked! It's a very popular breed but still somewhat rare breed.

They are not generally needy but do love being near people.  They are sometimes quoted to be like “Velcro” dogs so if you don’t want a dog that wants to be in the same room as you, don’t get this breed of dog.  They don't do so well being left alone most of the time.  They are content to lie near you at your feet or atop your chair. They do well and are fairly content with just a moderate amount of daily exercise but can also be also be quite athletic. With some workup, they can do quite well with hiking, biking and in other outdoors activities. I watched my other dog Tanner, swim out in a lake to chase a goose. He thought he could catch it but he never came close.  It was pretty funny.   Serafina has hiked many miles, jumping over tree stumps and other stuff in the way, with no problem. Not any of my dogs are aggressive with children, even when the young children get rough with them. They are a great sturdy small dog but not fragile and a great amount of fun to play with. My Havanese dogs have done very well on long trips and adjust well to new environments. They don't get too uneasy and do very well except for the occasional motion sickness. It depends on the dog, as some dogs get used to the drive and others always seem to get a bit ill.

Excellent Breed Reference Material:   This page concisely covers most of the most important aspects of the breed like temperament, appearance, grooming, health, history, etc. It's a must read!  Wikipedia Havanese page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havanese

We want the family to be happy and find their match in a loving pet.  We do need to learn some about your family in order to determine eligibility. I am not sure when this will occur but at an appropriate time that we see fit.

We will ask that you choose your puppy within 3 days of notification otherwise; this will hold up the process and prevent others on the list from choosing their precious puppy.   At our discretion, failure to respond may result in you being placed last in the list or waiving rights to purchase without refund of deposit.  We may have an Open House and have appointments available so you can view the puppies. Payment in full will be required by the 10th week of age, regardless of the pickup date, unless otherwise agreed upon.
