Truncations of the Archimedean Polyhedra |

Truncating Planes of the Snub CubeUp to this point the edge and vertex truncations have been pretty intuitive. With the Snub Cube things get a bit more complex. 8 of the triangular faces are produced by cutting off the 8 cube vertices (red). The cutting plane is deeper than those of the Cubeoctahedron. The Remaining 24 triangular faces are produced by truncating the 12 edges of the cube twice (yellow). These cutting planes are not parallel to the edge being cut off. They are tilted in 2 directions relative to the edge cutting planes used so far. |
