   Montserrat is a scenic day trip from Barcelona. It is considered to be a sacred mountain that Angels carved out with golden saws. In reality, this area was once a great sea and ten million years of natural aging shaped the mountains of Montserrat into unique rock formations. No matter what the causes of this unique mountain formation, everyone agrees that its splendor is unmatched! And since word's can not describe it, I will let my pictures do the talking.

  Montserrat is also of note because it attracts thousands of pilgrims a year to this spiritual retreat. Some feel closer to God in these high mountains. Some come to see the Black Virgin. Some come for the boys choir and some for the art work. No matter what the reason, all visitors leave with a sense of awe.
