How to Get Involved

Anyone with an interest in community-based arts programs is welcome to participate.
 
To become a member of the Arts Committee, you may be nominated by the public, the Board of Selectmen or members of the committee itself. Appointments to the committee are made by the Selectmen when any of the committee’s three year seats is vacated.
 
Other opportunities for volunteers are plentiful.  If you have an interest in community involvement, the visual or performing arts, or the support of local exhibitions as a gallery volunteer, please contact the committee for more information.
 
Current opportunities include:
 
Committee Members. Help to maintain a vibrant arts community in Exeter. Meetings are once a month, usually in the Town Office building. Enthusiasm and a willingness to be involved is needed for this position as an arts representative of the town of Exeter.
 
Artists who wish to exhibit or perform their work are encouraged to contact the committee.
 
Gallery volunteers are always needed to install and supervise gallery shows, prepare refreshments, maintain the gallery space, set up outdoor displays, and greet guests.
 
Administrative volunteers. We have plenty of opportunities available, including distributing flyers, hanging posters, and creating signage.
 
Educators, instructors and docents are needed for informal community classes and demonstrations. A new educational series is being planned.
