Rear Bumper with Swing-out Tire Carrier

I made this rear bumper primarily to have a place to mount my spare tire so I could free up some cargo space. I wanted a design that matched the front bumper, was heavy duty, had an integrated receiver hitch and D-ring shackles for tow points. I wanted a departure angle better than before. Lastly I wanted a modular mounting design for the hi-lift jack, spare fuel cans, water containers or a basket.

This bumper is made from 2"x6"x3/16" rectangular tube, 1/8" diamond plate, 3/8" frame plates and 1/4" plate steel.

The swing-out tire carrier is made from 2"x2"x1/8" square tube. When closed the carrier rests on a Delrin pad to support the weight of the tire. The latch is a cam style rated for over 1000 lbs. The hinge is a custom design I came up with after looking at other aftermarket bumpers. I am not a fan of the trailer spindle type hinges because of failures I have seen.
