he memberships we hold and the activities in which we participate involve those which promote the best interests of the Shetland Sheepdog as a breed who excels as a companion, and in the sports
of agility, conformation and obedience. My memberships are listed in the order of longevity.
Mobile Bay Dog Training Club was created in 1958 to provide basic training of our canine citizens. While the basic mission remains the same, additional activities which include public classes, canine good citizen training, obedience, agility and conformation classes have been added over the years. Our family has maintained an active membership since 1997.
The White Shetland Sheep Dog Association was established in 1988 to support the predominantly white sheltie or color-headed whites who are normal in every way and come in all the standard colors. The AKC penalized the CHW in 1952, while the UKC reinstated the CHW (color headed white) in 2000. We have maintained an active membership since 1998.
Our membership in APEX is maintained to showcase our commitment to the Shetland Sheep dog and those fellow breeders and persons who actively participate in all sports for which the breed is exceptionally well suited. A full transcript of our Heatherway Shelties ethics statement is contained on our web site. We have maintained a membership since March 19, 2005.
We received a rating for our award from AS!, which recognizes our commitment to a set of principles for an award program by the oldest award rating service on the internet.
