642 Telfair Street (706-823-2450). Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument and the U.S. Treasury Building in Washington D.C., designed this landmark church. The cornerstone was laid in 1809. The church was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 4:30; enter at bookstore in the rear. (NR)
