Government House
432 Telfair Street (706-821-1812). Designed to serve
as the center for Richmond County Government in 1801, this building has also served as a
site for city government and has been the home of a number of esteemed Augusta families.
The structure has been restored by the City of Augusta, serves as a reception hall and
features changing art exhibitions. Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 5:00. (NR) |
