Meadow Garden

Meadow Garden (9827 bytes)1320 Independence Drive, near the intersection of 13th and Walton Way. (706-724-4174). This circa 1791 Sand Hills cottage was the home of George Walton, a Georgia signer of the Declaration of Independence, and twice Governor of Georgia. The oldest documented house in Augusta and the first historic preservation project in the state. It has been owned since 1900 by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Monday-Friday, 10:00 to 4:00. Admission fee. (NHL)
