In general, we follow the Downingtown School District's lead when deciding whether or not to close for snow.  However, there will be times when we stay open if the schools close, and there will be times we close even if the schools stay open.  It all depends on the predicted weather and road conditions at the time our classes are to take place.  The bottom line is we want to ensure the safety of our students and instructors.  There are rare occasions where weather conditions worsen while we are in the middle of class.  In this case we may close early.

Here is what we will do to get the word out when snow is in the forecast.  Bear in mind that if we are holding classes but decide to close early the times shown below may not apply.

1  We will put out a mass email to everyone on our list no later than 3 PM on weekdays and 8 AM on Saturdays.  Depending on your email server and ours (Comcast) these messages could be delayed.

2.  We will post a notice on this page of our web site.  Go to www.afmaconline.com and click on the SNOW CLOSING button.  We will use the timeline shown in number 1 above.  Please hit the REFRESH key on your browser or clear your cache to ensure you are loading the most recent version of this page.

3.  We will put a message on the AFMAC answering machine no later than 3 PM on weekdays and 8 AM on Saturdays.  Please call us at 610-873-3969 to get the latest update.  Keep in mind that if several people call at the same time the line will be busy or the answering machine will not pick up.
