[S1] SICKLES FAMILY BIBLE
Unlike most family bibles, this one was primarily printed rather than handwritten. That isn't too surprising, considering that George and John were both printers and their brother Oliver was a bookbinder. Judging by where the printed entries end and the handwritten ones begin, the book appears to have been printed somewhere between 1833 and 1845.

Garrett, the first son, was born the 5th of April, 1792.
Rebecca, the first daughter, born 24th December, 1793.
John B. W. born the 3d of February, 1797.
George G. born 29th of September, 1800.
Oliver B. born 29th day of January 1802. ["-1803" handwritten]
William H. born the 27th day of February, 1807.
Sarah Ann, born the 19th day of March, 1813.
DEATHS.
Garrett Sickles, son of Daniel and Rebecca, departed this life 20th of May, 1797, aged 5 years.
Daniel Sickles, consort of Rebecca Sickles, departed this life the 3d day of April, 1815, in the 71st year of his age.
Rebecca Wright, consort of Henry Wright, and daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Sickles, departed this life the 18th day of November, 1833, in the 40th year of her age.

This was handwritten by Robert Miller sometime between the death of his brother Hugh in 1884 and his own death in 1890. Perhaps feeling a sense of his own mortality after observing the passing of his parents and several siblings, Robert decided to set down the family history for posterity. Note the blank lines for writing in the deaths of still-living siblings. No one ever filled them in.
