Updated as of September 3, 2008: News, Calendar & Puppies page Welcome to the Far-Sighted 4-H club’s website! We are a group of volunteer puppy raisers from the Fresno and Clovis area who raise, train, and socialize quality puppies born and bred by Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. of San Rafael, CA. Our group was established in the early 1960’s under Joyce Abel who was the leader at that time.           Our puppies attend weekly meetings where the puppies can be socialized on outings and have ongoing training. Raising puppies takes time, patience, and responsibility, but is also fun and a very rewarding experience.           We always welcome newcomers who are interested in raising a guide dog puppy and to answer any questions about Guide Dogs for the Blind.
