Dear Coach Slider, I would like to introduce myself and inquire about Riseball State University and the softball program. I will complete my junior year in high school in June and would like to play collegiate softball when I graduate in 2003.

I attend Fastpitch High School in Fastpitch, CA and have played varsity softball for the past three years. The past two years I was selected as an "All League" athlete and last year I was also named to the All Empire Team. I am the team captain for my high school and am also involved in many high school and community activities outside of softball including leadership, 4H, and numerous other activities that I will tell you about in this paragraph.

I have played ASA travel ball for the past 8 years and I am currently playing for the California Haze 18U. My primary position is pitcher but I also have experience at 1st base and outfield. My batting average for the summer was .375 with an on base percentage of .650 and a slugging percentage of .500. My ERA is .85 with 64 strikeouts and 15 walks in 58 innings pitched. I throw fastball (62-64mph), curve ball, rise ball, drop ball and change-up. If I have any other special highlights in my travel ball experiences to boast about such as Regional or National Tournament experience I would put it here.

My GPA is 3.2 and I have taken the SAT and scored a 990. (or) I will be taking the SAT or ACT in the near future. I have registered with the NCAA Clearing House. My college major interest is Business, Sports Medicine, Law, Nursing, Psychology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, History, Foreign Language, etc.

My video tape is completed (or) I am completing my video tape and would be happy to send you a copy to help you evaluate my skills. I am enclosing a copy of my player profile and my fall (or) summer schedule. I will be happy to send you any further information.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to receiving information about your program. I hope you will be able to attend some of these tournaments and watch me play. I am excited about the prospect of playing college softball while receiving a top level education.
