My Old Mystery Banjo

About all I know about this banjo is that I got it from my father-in-law several years ago and it plays pretty good (not that I'm a banjo player). I tune it ADGC and play it like a mandola (not that I'm a mandola player either).

The banjo has a 20 in scale length and has an 11 in pot. There are 16 brackets and 14 sideholes. The tailpiece reads "Elton". There are no other markings on the banjo (at least that I can see through the sideholds). Maybe the peghead inlay tells some of the story (at least to somebody other than me).

There is a sticker on the back side of the banjo that reads:

"MEET ME AT KANSAS CITY, MO AMERICAN GUILD SILVER JUBILEE" (text below stickman); and

"K.C. MO MAY 1926" (text on the paper that stickman is holding).

Enjoy the photos!
