I programmed the above slideshow in Flash Actionscript so that it employs am XML file to list picture filenames and descriptive text, as well as attributes for size and position. If I wish to add, change or delete pictures, I merely have to edit the text file... as well as upload the pictures to the correct directory. In addition, the Actionscript takes care of positioning different sizes of pictures, controls the visibility and fading of the display, automagically makes thumbnails and turns them into buttons.
