MJ Vol. 22, No. 2. (April-June 2006).  The first page of a 3-page article by EPS Sec.-Treasurer Floyd Heiser on a newly discovered postmark for the Welamo post office .  A purple mark had occasionally been seen on covers to the U.S. but it was thought to have been applied by missionaries.  Further research shows that it is likely the first postmark used by the Welamo post office when it opened in the early 1930s.
