TRAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL

PRIMARY GOALS FOR 2009:

2.      Eliminate Borough debt as outlined for the year 2009 (year six) of the 6-year debt recovery strategic plan. Tear down the abandoned home on 6th Street using CDBG funding, and sell the double lot in an effort to place the lots back on the tax rolls. (Frank)

3.      Go out for bids on phase three of the new municipal complex and begin construction utilizing the current grant funding. (Frank / Rich / Kevin)

4.      Repave Viaduct and Fourth Street with Liquid Fuels funds. Replace storm sewers at 5th and Gilmore.  Repave Wallace Avenue with CDBG funding.  Redo raised sections of sidewalk on East Gilmore Avenue.  Assist in completing sewage mandates by target deadlines. Finally, repaint all curbs in the Terrace section of town. (Marco)

5.      Continue to meet or overshoot all federal-mandated sanitary sewer infrastructure mapping and repair target deadlines while remaining at or under budget. (Casey)

6.      Maintain the Borough website. Work on the reviving the “little old green sheet” as a bi-annual newsletter for the community.  Continue to support the needs of the Jr. Council and Youth Volunteer programs.  Continue to support the efforts of obtaining a skate park in the borough. (Stephanie)

7.      Work with and assess the needs of the Code Enforcement Officer to maintain appropriate code enforcement throughout the community. Act as the liaison to PTARC.  Maintain the recycling program within the Borough.  Continue to support the TECDC revitalization effort. Continue to support the efforts of obtaining a skate park in the borough. (Dennis)

8.      Work with our Police to establish and properly address the actual needs of the department to ensure the continued necessary public safety to the community. Expend the Police Department improvement grant by end of year to equip the Police Station with a backup generator, holding cell, and evidence area. (Rich / Kevin)
