About My Limited The bike was originally purchased in New Jersey. Although I am told the bike was never raced, there were a wide variety of go-fast mods performed on this Limited. Most obvious from the photos above are the 1988 GSXR1100 white wheels, Storz superbike bars and folding pegs and the Kerker pipe. Also apparent are the Katana mirrors and the blue tinted windscreen. The motor is where this bike starts to get interesting. Falicon hardened and balanced the stock rods. From the base gasket up it's all 1988 Slingshot stuff. The 1988 GSXR 750 went with a shorter stroke and a bigger bore than the 1986-87 GSXR 750's. So what I have is a combination of 1986 long stroke bottom end with the bigger bore 1988 Slingshot from the base gasket up. This 825cc combination produces good power and is very tractable. Jamie told me that more than a few of these motors were put together back East (see Motorcyclist, Feb. 1993). If anyone has any additional info about this mod please email me at fd_colorado@hotmail.com. When I got the Limited it had not been ridden much in the last few years. It was sitting in an airplane hangar in Western Colorado. I took it home and had my mechanic change the oil and filter, put in new brake fluid, install a new chain and remove the limp stock rear shock with canister. The shock was not rebuildable so I had Fox make up a Twin Clicker for the bike. The Katana mirrors were the next item to be removed. The stalks were cracking and they had created some stress on the upper fairing. A barend mirror was installed on the left side until the fairing can be straightened out and the stock mirrors replaced. 03/2005 -- The bike now has the original stock bars on. The fairing needs about $150 worth of repair to be able to mount the stock mirrors back on. This bike runs great and has plenty of power and torque. It loves to go through the gears on a twisty piece of road and it handles great too. If you have any pics, specs or parts sources (esp. dry clutch) that you want to share, please email me at Please put "Dry Clutch" in your subject line.
