UCLA 2011

After visiting colleges as distant as the U. of Miami, as near as the U. of Maryland, and as cold as Purdue, Mary chose to attend UCLA and major in biochemistry. Packing was a challenge, but eventually everything fit into 5 large suitcases that were very near the 50-lb. limit (left photo). Fortunately Southwest takes two bags for free, and so Gail and Mary had to pay only $50 extra for luggage. After a couple of days shopping in LA, Mary was all set in her dorm (right photo). They even had time to enjoy (left photo) the small sushi restaurant (Mon Roll House Modern Japanese) in Santa Monica that they had discovered on a previous trip.

Both Gail and I will visit in late October to see how things are going (and probably take more stuff).
