This year I attended a computer conference in Toronto. During the
conference various breakout events were scheduled to "refocus" our
energy.
These first three photos are from the Black Creek Pioneer
Village, a re-creation of town life in 1860s Ontario. Costumes from
the era, buildings from the era, and so on.
Lonnie vs. Black Bart. Lonnie is dressed in yellow; Black Bart is dressed
in...well, you know. The woman in white is holding a knife to prevent
escape. This area allowed guests to "quick draw" with a real bad
guy.
Although it's 1860, Black Bart has his own electronic scoring system. Just
guess who won. Every time. With every guest. Yup.
At night strategically placed lights dramatically illuminated the buildings.
The
next three photos are from The Docks, a
sort of night club / bar / sports entertainment complex. This place was a
blast.
My colleague, Henry, decided to try the trapeze...
It looked like fun, except for the part about leaning F-A-R outstretched
Before we boarded the buses back to our hotels, I set the camera on a table
alongside the water and took some timed exposures of the city at night.
On another day, some of us went bike riding around one of the Toronto
islands. This view of the skyline was from right by one of the
homes. Yes, the sky looks that way because rain clouds are coming.
And yes, we got caught in it.
My hotel was located in the Skydome. So was this "tribute" to
the different kinds of fans, which I saw many times a day.
While walking around on my last day I passed by this road. I never found a
Penny Ln, however.
