We see a number of birds in our neighborhood, and now that I've got
a digital camera it's much easier to take pictures and get them posted.
This list will grow as more of our avian friends fall into my photographic
clutches.
We have a parrot in the neighborhood. Some call him/her
"Wilson." Others just use "The Parrot."
Apparently he/she had a mate years ago, long before we moved here.
Our neighbors Robert and Lyn put out peanuts for him/her, which are greatly
loved. We also put out peanuts, but are scorned. At least our
newly-roofed garage is attractive, which is how I was able to get so close to
him/her.
We've seen this bird-of-prey in the tops of the trees before, but this is the
first time I was able to get the camera and take some shots.
Our ash tree is being favored here. We've been told it's either a juvenile
red-tailed hawk or red-shouldered hawk. Its young age means the coloring
hasn't come in completely yet, leading to the uncertainty.
