The purposes of Vandergrift
Festa Italiano are to:
provide the Vandergrift
area community with a festival which celebrates the
Italian-American heritage through the culture, values and
assimilation of the Italian immigrants into America
expand the historical
understanding of the Italians immigrating to the United States
in the early 1900's and the struggle of the immigrants upon
arriving in this country to begin a new life in a culture where
many did not speak the language (by focusing on education,
historical compilation and community association).
Festa Italiana di Vandergrift
is organized under Vandergrift Festa Italiano, Inc., a
Pennsylvania tax exempt non-profit organization under section 501(c)(4) of the
Internal Revenue Code.

FRIENDS vs. ITALIAN FRIENDS
FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
ITALIAN FRIENDS: You never have to ask.

ITALIAN FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss.

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's
what the crowd is doing.
ITALIAN FRIENDS: Will kick the ass of the whole crowd that left you.
FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
ITALIAN FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"
FRIENDS: Are for a while.
ITALIAN FRIENDS: Are for life.
