Adoption Consultations

When a person or couple first begin to consider adoption as a way to “grow” their family, the entire process can feel very scary and overwhelming. The internet is full of thousands and thousands of websites on the topic of adoption and sifting through them can be a daunting task. Plus, well-meaning family and friends can bombard you with horror stories of “adoptions gone wrong” and misconceptions.

Sandi Bornman, of Sanctuary House, is available to talk with prospective adoptive parents about all of the options that are available to them as Pennsylvania residents. Sandi has been an adoption social worker for many years and has personally completed over 50 adoptions. Different people have different goals for their lives with regard to parenting. Not every type of adoption is right for every person or couple. By speaking with Sandi, couples can face this very important decision armed with knowledge and wisdom. Sandi can help them to compare and contrast the types of adoption for costs, risks, difficulty, length of the process, expectations, predictability and of course, the children. Domestic, international and special needs adoptions can be discussed.
