British Folk

The British folk scene was really bustling during the 1960's and 70's.  There was a multitude of great music generated during this time by many artists, Americans included (Paul Simon, Jackson C. Frank, etc).
In addition to Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, who are featured with their own pages, the following artists contributed in the shaping of the folk scene during the '60's and 70's, and continue to this day.   Check out www.folkblues.co.uk for more info on British Folk.

Master of folk guitar, fiddle, and the long ballad. Nic Jones was part of the folk revival in Britain in the 1970s. Donovan:

OK, Why Donovan?  In the early 80's, when I was discovering all this great fingerstyle guitar music, I came upon some early recordings of Donovan.  I really liked them.   Then I noticed that a couple of tunes he sang were written by a guy named Bert Jansch (Oh Deed I do, Do you Hear Me Now?).  So while I was in college, some friend of a friend mentioned that she had a Bert Jansch album.  She gave it to me and, I was floored when I listened to it.  That's why Donovan!
