Located in a garden setting, Mrs. Flagg's Happy Times Preschool strives to
promote the social, intellectual, emotional, language, physical, spiritual and
artistic development of each child in a small, caring group.
We give one-to-one time with each child every day. We provide a loving, safe
and stimulating environment where each child can grow to his/her full potential.
Thus, each child experiences the joy of learning in an age-appropriate way.
Licensed in1961, Mrs. Flagg has given large doses of encouragement ever since.
The essence of Happy Times School is Mrs. Flagg's original and successful
musical phonics program. Her phonics method is unique and innovative. While
singing her original alphabet songs, children do not even realize that they are
learning because they are having fun! She also has guest speakers
coordinated
to the phonics instruction.
Children also regularly hear the beautiful voice of
David Flagg,
operatically
trained tenor and Astrid Flagg's husband.
Because Mrs. Flagg wears costumes coordinated to the phonics program,
children laugh and remember the letter they are learning Their language skills
grow and they learn to read so successfully that their reading skills continue for
a lifetime.
Art, science and math projects are seamlessly coordinated to the phonics emphasis.
