Florida Chapter for the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children

FLAPSAC is organized to increase public awareness concerning the problem of child abuse.

  • promote improved standard for the prevention, identification, intervention, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse
  • promote accurate effective, appropriate, just and humane identification of, and intervention, prosecution, and treatment with, abused and neglected children, their families, and offending individuals.
  • provide forums and other mechanisms for the exchange of information among professionals working within the field of child abuse prevention, intervention, prosecution, treatment and research.
  • encourage and promote multi and interdisciplinary professional education on topics of relevance to the problem of child abuse
  • serve as a representational forum within which the needs and concerns of professionals from various disciplines addressing the problem of child abuse can be effectively articulated in Florida.
  • encourage and promote multi and interdisciplinary community responses to child abuse
  • promote the effectiveness and well-being of professionals working with abused children, their families and perpetrators.
