Team
Stats (posted April 20, 2009)
Stats
for Varsity and JV are now posted, just click the TEAM menu button (to
the left) and appropriate level in the drop down menu for stats.
The JV stats do not include the first two games.
Ground
Ball Note: The Ground Ball stats included are for ground balls
that are 'possessed' for at least a 'two-count'. If a player picks
up the ball, drops it, and picks it up again, then it is only considered
one ground ball. If a player picks up a ground ball and it is
immediately checked out of his stick (< 2-count), then it is not
being considered a ground ball.
[Please
note that these statistics are those captured by Mr. Long and are not
the "official" scorebook stats.]

First
Home Game (posted April 2, 2009)
BE
- 4, Eastern - 15
Early
game jitters made for a close first half with Eastern leading 6-3.
However, Eastern scored on 9 of their 17 shots in the second half to
spoil the inaugural home opener for the Crusaders. An errant pass
by Eastern eluded the goalie and went in the net for Eustace's first
goal. Joel McGowan led BE with three goals.
.
Scrimmage
Results (posted March 29, 2009)
BE
- 4, Cherry Hill East - 4
Although
the Varsity team tied Cherry Hill East, they definitely outplayed
them. They out-shot East 32-18 and had the ground ball advantage
35-17.
BE
- 8, Moorestown Friends 1
Six
different players scored goals. The score was indicative of the
game as shots were 37-13, and ground balls were 54-18.

Coach's
Corner (posted March 13, 2009)
The
first week of practice has been going well. The boys are working
hard at their conditioning and their lacrosse.
Several
items I need to bring to your attention (before I forget!):
-
The Spring Sports communion breakfast is Sunday, March 22, in Crusader
Hall at 9:00 am. It is expected that all Spring athletes attend if
at all possible. There is a mass, some food, and individual team
parent meetings to follow.
-
We have added a varsity game against Oakcrest on 4/20, a JV game against
Gloucester Catholic on 4/9, and a scrimmage against Cherry Hill East on
3/24 to our schedule. The schedule is available online at
http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal.cfm?schoolid=

The guys have been doing a great job of being ready to go at 4:00.
As a result, we’ve been able to let them go at 6:00 as promised.
Please make sure you have arrangements for your son to get picked up in
a timely manner. As a parent, I know sometimes things get messed
up, but you should realize that a coach has to remain until all players
have been picked up. Thanks for your help with this.
-
Next Thurs. and Fri. are half days for the underclassmen (the juniors
and seniors are away on class trips). The freshmen and sophomores
are taking standardized tests. We will have practice one of the
days (probably Friday) right after school from 12:30-2:30. We may
go that time for both days. I’ll keep you posted but just wanted
to alert you to the different schedule.

Coach's
Corner (posted January 16, 2009)
Coach
Carlin is trying to get the administrative things out of the way before
the season starts. All players are asked to supply the coach with
the following information:
1. E-mail address (so he can update his distribution list.)
2. Registration Form
3. Conditioning Form
Conditioning
Program - Bishop Eustace has a conditioning coach this year and it
is recommended that all prospective players be in shape when practices
begin in early March. The newly refurbished weight room will be
available to all players beginning the week of January 26th.
Schedule
Changes - Click on the 'Schedule' menu button to the left and see
the updated schedule. A summary of the changes follow: Absegami
game changed to Saturday, Clearview dropped, and Cherry Hill East added.

Shooting
Drills Added (posted January 3, 2009)
Coach
Jim Berkman of Salisbury University (Maryland), Div. III champions 5 of
the last 6 years, has listed multiple shooting drills on their
website. There are videos of 24 drills on the site, and practicing
them on your own will strengthen your game. Click on the SKILLS
menu button to your left, and then the INDIVIDUAL button in the pop-up
menu. On the Individual Skills page, go to the 'Salisbury Shooting
Drills'. Click on the Salisbury Shooting Drills link for the list
of videos. Also on the page are diagrams that can be used as a
reference to use when practicing the drills. Click
here to be directed to the Shooting Skills page.
