| Vakama
walked in tight circles around his hut. Anyone who knew about
such things would have been surprised by the ferocity of the bonfire
in the middle of the hut; which reflected the village elder’s
mood. Rellka walked in.
“He’s justleft via the maingate Vakamasir.”
“Thank you Rellka, that will be all.”
“Thank you sir.”
Rellka turned and left. Jala walked in.
“Has he gone?”
“Yes…. He has begun his quest.”
“Do you think he will succeed in bringing back Tahu’s Kanohi Hau?”
“That I do not know my loyal captain. Leave me now, I need time
to think.”
“Yes Priest. Goodbye,” and Jala walked back out.
Vakama really didn’t know if Kaiwera would succeed… if he didn’t,
he would have the weight of a innocent Tohunga’s life on his shoulders…
The bonfire roared.
