Who We Are

Under the leadership of Laura Benning, Flutes on the Brink is the only adult flute choir in upper Montgomery County, Maryland. Founded in 2002, the group is comprised of both professional and amateur musicians. FOTB members participate in a variety of local music ensembles, including the Rockville Concert Band, Montgomery Symphony, Olney Community Band, and Montgomery Village Community Band.

Flutes on the Brink has performed throughout the greater Washington DC area, including appearances at the Columbia Flute Choir Festival, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater (Rockville), the Flute Society of Washington conference, Brookside Gardens, and various local senior centers and churches. FOTB presents a varied repertoire, encompassing both arrangements and original works for flute ensemble, including compositions by FOTB member Jonathan Cohen.
