Well for the past week we have been looking at the accuracy of our station. It was pretty good in all of testable fields.
Heres one for example.. But do note even our readings are off... don't makine important decisions based on information displayed.
As you may know, power outages are rare at Fluvanna WX but when they do occur the effects results in 5 mins of setting up everything. Usually there will be important information on the main screen. On nights where its icy or theres a change of power outage we should have it posted on the main screen about 24 hours before the forecaasted poor weather will occur. If the power is out or flickering then please note that we will update when power levels willing. Please refer to the following for power outage information.
If you want to check wether or not we have power for yourself then look in this area...

Fluvanna WX is not live right now due to a bad start-up button, the our main computer will not start. We only use the main computer because it has the software on it. In times like this there will be no weather updates (execpt radar and the weather wigget. We will post information about the outage every time needed. Generally we have a good power provider but our station doesn't have batteries yet. When the power goes out it usally flickers but if the powers out for 1 second then our computer, and our station have to restart. If the power flickers bad enough to restart the computer, then we will wait till the threat is over (ex. power is stable, thunderstorm passes etc.). If the power goes out then we will resume reporting when power comes back on and we will do the same thing as the power flickering.
Fluvanna WX is now online! We usually have equiment failure if we dont have any information within the past 10 mins. We rarely encounter power failures. Information provieded can be used by anyone without my permission as long as its not used for purposes non-weather related.
