Johnny and Tim win again...Sounds like an old record.  The only thing keeping them from running away with Angler of the Year titles are the early season misses they had.  They topped a galant effort by Mark and Tommy Vaughn, who were followed by Patrick McBride and Shane Brooks.

8/7/2009

Johnny Leamon and Tim Forestor kept it up, winning again over Terry and Caleb O'Neal with a great turnout out of Chester Frost.

6/13/2009

Johnny Leamon and Tim Forestor used a strong limit and a 4 pound 10 ounce largemouth to hold off Patrick McBride to win the June tournament which was moved to Chickamauga Lake due to the sudden closing of the Chattanooga Riverpark for Riverbend.  Leamon and Forestor continued to dominate with their third win in a row after a slow start and had a healthy limit of fish.  McBride lost two exceptional fish early, and ulitmately paid the price despite weighing in four fish bolstered by three large bass caught on consecutive casts late in the day.  We had a great turnout with some of the old guard returning to the water to compete.

5/30/2009

Leamon and Forestor made it two in a row, topping Joe and Joby Pickett and taking big fish honors by ounces to take the early morning tournament win out of Chester Frost park.  Haden Lamb and Logan Kokoszka topped Patrick McBride and Dusty McCormick in fishing third.

4/18/2009

Mark and Tommy Vaughn continued their dominance of the river with a slim victory at the 1st Annual Spring Fling over Joe and Joby Pickett.  The duo also captured the big fish prize by one ounce over third place finisher Patrick McBride.

4/4/2009

It was just a matter of time and most of us knew it.  Johnny Leamon and Tim Forestor posted an impressive first FOCBA victory over the rest of the teams at the tourney out of Serodino.  Johnny and Tim weighed in a 13 pound 2 ounce limit which included a 12.5 inch spotted bass that weighed two pounds.  The winners had a limit by 7:45 and coasted to victory.  They topped Rusty and Hunter Robertson and Haden Lamb and Logan Kokoszka.  Patrick McBride, who finished fourth, weighed in the big fish with a 4 pound 5 ounce largemouth.  Joe and Joby Pickett rounded out the top five.  All teams weighed in fish on a tough day, with cool temperatures, a nasty fog, and several large tournaments to contend with.

3/7/2009

Mark and Tommy Vaughn held of Jeff Kokoszka and Wade Brumley to top the field at the Riverpark.  "Team Vaughn", composed of 2007 AOY Mark Vaughn and father Tommy, boated nearly 12 pounds with a limit that included a 3 1/2 pound smallmouth and a very health spot.  Jeff and Wade were a little less than a pound behind, and boated the big fish with a 4 pound 7 ounce largemouth.  Patrick McBride rounded out the top three in a day when the bite seemed to die for most around 10:30am.  The field as a whole was constrained by the no lock through rule as well as the barrage of boats fishing out of sullivans.  Several anglers made the long run down river to find a parking lot of boats.  The first release of the years points standings is also out.  You can find it by clicking here.

2/7/2009

Tough is the only word to describe the second tourney on Chickamauga.  Haden Lamb and Logan Kokoszka caught two fish to win the tourney.  They were followed by Mark and Tommy Vaughn, with Patrick and Taffi McBride trailing far behind on a cold day.

1/24/2009

Greg Lamb and Buddy Gross dominated the field in the first tournament with a limit of 20 pounds 4 ounces.  Haden Lamb and Logan Kokoszka finished second, followed by Patrick McBride.

  1. Greg Lamb/Buddy Gross - 5 Fish - 20.4 lbs (7.1 lb Big Fish) 105 Points
  2. Haden Lamb/Logan Kokoska - 4 Fish - 12.10 lbs 95 Points
  3. Patrick McBride - 2 Fish - 7.2 lbs  85 Points
  4. Joe Miller/John Miller - 1 Fish - 3.10lbs 80 Points
  5. Joe Pickett/Joby Pickett -1 Fish - 2.5lbs 75 Points

All fish seemed to swim away, which is a good sign and one of our goals for the year.

12/4/2008

The format and rules have changed, the schedules are posted and the new season will be starting in January.  Get ready to fish now!!!

9/20/2008

You could call it a day of lost opportunities.  Several anglers lost large fish, including the eventual winner; 2008 FOCBA Angler of the Year and now 2008 Classic champion Patrick McBride McBride, who lost two large fish on a topwater early, still had enough to overtake the field and capture his first classic after three previous runner-up finishes.  Terry O'Neal, the only angler who chose to fish the river, came in second place.

8/22/2008

Bob Alsip and Bill Hall won the final of the Friday night Dogfights out of Chickamauga Dam.  Five boats braved the nasty winds and changing patterns.  Bob and Bill broke the four tournament winning streak of Patrick McBride and Dusty McCormick, topping them by six ounces with three fish that weighed the identical same weight.  Thanks for everyone who came out during the summer.

8/9/2008

Travis Ezell became the second of the "Young Guns" to win a club tournament with a limit out of the Riverpark Saturday.  Ezell overcame a rush of big fish from the other anglers, ranging from a 5.95 pound largemouth from runner up Terry O'Neal to two monster smallmouth from Scott Pennington and Joe Pickett to take the win.

8/1/2008

Patrick McBride and Dusty McCormick topped a large field to win the Friday Night Dogfight out of Chickamauga Dam.  There were four fish that weighed over 4.5 pounds and a great turnout.  Hunter Cordell and Bucky Buckner took second place.

7/25/2008

Hunter Cordell scored an impressive victory in the FOCBA Tourney out of Chester Frost.  Cordell easily topped Scott Pennington and Patrick McBride for the win. With his win, Cordell becomes only the sixth different angler to win a club tournament in the history of the club.  Thanks to all that turned out for a cool evening on the water.

7/18/2008

Patrick McBride and Dusty McCormick weighed in the only limit in winning the Friday Night Dogfight out of Chickamauga Dam.  It was a great turnout and we look forward to the next dogfight on August 1.

6/28/2008

Patrick McBride used a little skill and alot of luck to top Joe Pickett and capture his fourth win of the year in six events.  Joe Pickett nearly took the win with a nearly six pound bucket mouth caught on a jig ten minutes before weigh in.  All participants weighed in fish in the unusually timed format.

6/20/2008

Thanks to all who have come out and participated in the first two dogfights.  We had a great showing on Friday night and it was good to see some old friends and make some new ones.  Ricky and Austin took home the money after Travis Ezell and his partner took a dead fish penalty and fell to third place.  Patrick McBride and Chris Goforth came up two ounces short and settled for second place.

6/13/2008

Patrick McBride and Travis Ezell captured the first dogfight of the year.  We had a small turnout which was surely affected by Riverbend.  Hope to have a bigger turnout next week.

6/5/2008

It was voted to change the start time for the 6/28 tournament from 5am to Noon to 4am to 11am to try and avoid some of the heavy boat traffic.  As of the meeting no non-boaters had entered.

5/31/2008

Patrick McBride won this third tournament of the season on May 31 out of Harrison Bay state park as the season officially reached the halfway point.  Currently on the season McBride has won three tournaments and Scott Pennington two.  The fishing was tough on everyone as the fish have started to move deeper with the weather warming up and the lake was slammed with bass boats and pleasure craft.

5/17/2008

Scott Pennington won his second tournament as the FOCBA season nears the halfway point.  Pennington brought in a healthy limit of fish and clipped Patrick McBride.  Everyone was very happy to see Joe Pickett fishing as a boater in his second tournament of the year.  It was a good event as every angler weighed in fish.

5/3/2008

Patrick McBride topped a field of limits at the end of the early Nickajack run on the tournament schedule.  McBride, Terry O'Neal, and Scott Pennington all weighed in limits of fish virtually the same size.  Everyone battled an early morning thunderstorm to finish the tournament.  The tournament stretch will now turn towards Chickamauga, where the club will participate in a trio of tourneys.

4/19/2008

Patrick McBride topped the contingent at the tournament out of the Riverpark with a limit of fish.  Joe Pickett finished second and was followed by Terry O'Neal.  McBride and Pickett fished out of the same boat and battled heavy winds and no waterflow all day.

4/11/2008

The schedule, photo gallery, and tournament results have been updated.

4/5/2008

Scott Pennington overwhelmed the field at the opening tournament on Nickajack Lake.  Scott fought engine troubles to catch a limit of fish on a creature bait.  Patrick McBride finished in second place.  Corey Williams took third. Pictures have been posted in the photo gallery.

The club brochure has been updated.  The members directory has also been updated.
