I create folk art portraits based on the early American paintings created by itinerant artists of early America around the 1800's. I can create reproductions of original pieces or create new original pieces. I can paint a loved one in folk art style with period costume simply by putting their face in an existing work of art or by creating a completely new piece.
Below are examples I have done recently. If you are interested in putting your child or pet in one of my pieces all you need to do is send good photo's by email as a .jpg or by regular mail along with payment and any changes you need done. The face should be in as close as possible a position as you want painted. Full body photo's of pets are best. Generally 16 by 20 inch paintings are good for one figure and a pet and 18 by 24 inch paintings are good when you want one, two or three people depicted. Contact me about other sizes.
