On July 28th we celebrated
the 94th birthday of one of our newest members. Stephanie was so
surprised when she entered the dining room for lunch at her retirement
center. There we were in our purple regalia and red hats! We
presented Stephanie with her own red hat and sang "happy birthday" (some
of us played our kazoos). Later Stephanie blew out the candle on
her cake, and we showered her with gifts.
When asked which was the best
year of her life, Stephanie quickly replied, "Oh, the best is yet to
come!" We all look to her as an example of fun after fifty. . .
and sixty. . . and seventy. . .and eighty. . . and ninety. . .
