About Us

The Fourth River Theatre Ensemble was founded in early 2007 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with the goal of creating exciting and engaging theatrical productions. Co-founders and now directors David Flaherty and Jeffrey Gardner, both longtime Pittsburgh-area residents, have assembled a group of artists, actors, dancers, musicians, designers, and technicians to produce their inaugural production, The Bacchae, in June 2007.

The Fourth River Theatre Ensemble brings together talented artists from across the country in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to create theatrical events with an inventive and collaborative spirit. It is the goal of the Ensemble to produce exciting theatre that challenges the mainstream while remaining accessible to a wide audience.
