	Press Release April 30, 2007 Fourth River Theatre Ensemble to debut June 2007 The Fourth River Theatre Ensemble is excited to announce its inception this summer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the mission of the Fourth River Theatre Ensemble to create exciting theatrical events with an inventive and collaborative spirit. Founded by a group of young theatre artists, the ensemble is committed to challenging mainstream conceptions of theatre while remaining accessible to a wide audience. This summer, for its inaugural production, the Fourth River Theatre Ensemble will present The Bacchae, the final work of the ancient Greek playwright Euripides. Artistic Director Jeffrey Gardner's fresh interpretation, buoyed by Paul Woodruff's modern and vigorous translation, breathes new life into one of the finest classical tragedies. The production will utilize music, dance, and poetry in a truly multi-disciplinary presentation of the script's powerful message. The Fourth River Theatre Ensemble will present The Bacchae at the New Hazlett Theatre on Pittsburgh's North Side on June 21-24, 2007. More information will be forthcoming as that date approaches.
