actually, their names were Azteca and Americana. and the whole thing was quite a racket. lucky for us, it was also a lot of fun. we got off the boat in cozumel and crammed into a taxi with eight other people for a very sticky ride to this national park. then we sat around in a sticky room watching a video about dolphins. and we kept being told to smile for the cameras...

but the dolphins were neat. one of them even made cooing noises while she kissed. i left thinking it wouldn't be so hard to keep one as a pet... i do have a large bathtub, after all... and, as you can see, the pictures were of good quality. overpriced, but i'm a sucker that way.

see the scratches on the dolphin's back?
"love bites," from when the dolphins play together.
awww

shaking hands.
geoff is holding onto the back of my life jacket so i don't fall in.
again, awww

this was a little tricky.
the dolphins come up behind you and you grab their fins as they come by.
by the way, notice how this water looks like a swimming pool?
it's the ocean...

there was one more trick, where you lie on your stomach in the water, legs locked, and the dolphins come up behind you and push you in with their noses on your feet. geoff joked beforehand that i wouldn't be able to stand it because my feet are ticklish. i was good though. but the pictures didn't come out so great because you can't see the dolphins, and on top of that my bathing suit started to come off in the force of the water... so i'll leave that up to the imagination.
