Projects

The following are descriptions of selected projects that illustrate our experience in water resources management:


FOX Environmental   provides on-going stormwater management program services to Phase II communities of Paulding, Lee and Bartow Counties as well as the Cities of Flowery Branch, Oakwood, Hiram, Dallas, Auburn, Lookout Mountain, among others.  Several other local governments, such as Fayette County, Douglasville-Douglas Water Sewer Authority, Woodstock, and Tyrone, among others, contact with FOX to design and implement cost-effective Best Management Practices (BMPs), including: Public Education and Involvement Programs; on-site Pollution Prevention and Erosion and Sediment Control Training; Illicit Discharge Testing and Elimination Programs; Business Education, Inspection and Enforcement Programs; Industrial Stormwater Permit Compliance; and Storm Sewer System Inspection, Maintenance and Mapping Programs.  FOX helps many stormwater clients effectively plan, implement and track program activities for end-of-year reporting.  The Firm was recently hired by the City of Auburn to guide them in the development of a Stormwater Utility.  FOX also assisted the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County in receiving the State’s only exemption for participation in the NPDES Stormwater Phase II Program resulting in a savings of over $150,000 in a five year period.

“FOX Environmental, LLC   served as a principal author of numerous successful grant application packages over the last several years, including: (1) $500,000 (GA EPD, 319 Non-point Source Grant) - McIntosh Regional Development Center, Griffin, GA, TMDL Implementation Planning and Assessment; (2) $100,000 (US Department of Defense) - Promoting Regulatory Compliance and Pollution Prevention at Military Installations in the Southeast; and (3) $1,000,000 (Arthur C.Blank Foundation and Dekalb County, Georgia) - Greenspace Acquisition for the South Peachtree Creek Nature Preserve.”  The City of Auburn recently contracted with FOX to facilitate development of a Stormwater Utility, a dedicated funding source that will be used to support the City’s Phase II Program over time.

The MNGWPD and EPD require local governments to design and implement Standard Operating Procedures for wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems that include; regular inspections, preventive and routine maintenance programs; a sewer certification program for new development; spill response procedures; Grease Trap Program; a long-term monitoring program; among other requirements.  FOX has worked with several local governments, including: Paulding County, Dallas, Flowery Branch, Monroe and others to document and enhance in-house programs to meet the Water District, State and Federal requirements.

Similar Disaster Mitigation Planning Projects were successfully completed by FOX for the Cities of Woodstock, Cedartown, Temple and Polk County, Georgia.

“Working independently and   in conjunction with the University of Georgia and/or Georgia Tech Research Institute, FOX designed and conducted a series of customized training workshops on watershed assessment (TMDLs) and NPDES stormwater (Phase II, Industrial and Erosion and Sediment Control) to over 300 representatives from local governments in Georgia and Alabama, as well as Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps installations throughout the southeast.”
