OCTOBER-NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2007

LAFRA UNIT 29 NEWSLETTER

Hello Ladies:

I guess summer is about over and some of us are happy about that, others not so much.  I like the autumn for its sense of completion.  The things that were planted in the spring grew in the summer and have been harvested.  Mother Nature is ready for a rest to rejuvenate and get ready to do it all over again!!  And so am I.

I hope you all had a great summer and look forward to the family time of the holidays.  To those of you who have loved ones far away, our thoughts and prayers are with you.  I know some of you have grandchildren in the military and some of them are in the Middle East We especially want to remember them. Others have children who live far away, I hope the holidays give you a chance to see them.

We have had a pretty good turnout for our Birthday lunches, the first Friday of the month.  We welcome any of you who would like to come.  We even have a few husbands tag along.  We meet at noon at various places.  This next 4months our lunches will be as follows:  October 5th at the Home Port Café at the Branch

November 2nd at Azteca in E. Bremerton by Freddy’s

December 7th at Badda Bing Badda Boom. This place

is behind the new Supper Supplements store at the

corner of Sylvan Way and Wheaton Way in E. Brem.

January 4th at China West on Mile Hill in Port Orchard

HOLIDAY BAZAAR AND BAKE SALE

OCTOBER 26 & 27

We have sold all of our tables for the Holiday Bazaar and should have some really “neat stuff” for sale.  The “Quilt Lady” will be back as well as some of the other regulars.  We are also having our BAKE  SALEThis is when we make most of our money to run the Unit.  Those Shipmates really go for the baked goods.  So, if you can donate to this we would appreciate it.  We could also use some help manning that table.  If we could get a few more ladies involved, it would be easier on those who always help.  Let’s share the burden.   So, tell all of your family and friends to come and get a jump start on Holiday shopping.

Note the earlier dates!!!!!!!!

Hours are Friday 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM

We hope to see you all there.  We would also like to see more of you at our regular meetings.  If you need transportation to any of these events, call me @ 871-8135 and I will make arrangements for you
