Tool Box

I built this tool box early in my woodworking "career."  I saw the design in WOOD magazine and it represents the first time I made dovetails!  There are cracks between the tails and slots which are filled with wood putty but it has remained remarkably solid.

By the way, the handle is also mortised into the sides.

I use it to carry my tools and materials whenever I teach or visit someone.

Same tool box but with the smaller compartment removed and opened.
Lumber Rack Lumber Rack

This is the lumber rack I built because I was tired of stacking lumber on two saw horses.
Dust Collection System Dust Collection System

I have used 6" duct work throughout my shop with 6" hose for connections.

I reduce to 4" ports at the gates.

I get very good suction even at the end of the runs.

The dust collector is a Penn State 1 1/2 hp with a Fox canister.

The shop looks crowded but is really very roomy.
Mallet - Maple & IpeMallet - Maple & Ipe - end view Carver's Mallet

I made two of these mallets - one for each of my sons-in-law.  The woods are maple and Ipe or Brazilian cherry.

This particular mallet has some separation along the joints between the pieces of Ipe but it's still usable.
