Ruminations of an Aging Actuary
Steve (math prof) and I (aging actuary) have been writing annual letters (6pp, tiny print, double columns) since we got married, 23 years ago. For the last 4 years, our older son, Leon, has joined us. Whence the title? When About Schmidt came out, the Soc of Actuaries claimed that Schmidt was nothing like any real actuary, as if we never got old. The SOA website is full of skydivers and crevasse-leapers, to show what a dynamic profession we are. But look around, and you see stout, grey souls.
